To Our Clients, Family and Friends –

We made it! Another year is in the books, and wow, what a year it was! A huge thanks to all of you for being many of the highlights of our year. We wouldn’t be where we are today without all our amazing clients, friends, and family.

As we look to wrap up 2022, we want to take the time to reflect on this past year. We’re going to borrow a page out of Spotify’s book, and give you our digital marketing version of Spotify’s “2022 Wrapped” (and if you really want, we will give you our own Spotify Wrapped! Hint: Lots of Taylor Swift).

  1. Authenticity in Social – When it comes to social media, 2022 showed that consumers, now more than ever, are seeking authenticity. Behind us are the days of overly polished posts, which we can see reflected in the meteoric rise of TikTok and Instagram Reels. A survey by Sprout Social reported that 66% of consumers are, “paying the most attention to short-form content.”
  2. Top Searches of 2022 – Google has become so ingrained into our society and daily lives, that the brand name has even turned into a verb, as you can hear when you ask a question and someone says, “Google It!” And so, here are the top Google Searches for 2022:
    • #1 Google Search was Wordle! If you don’t know what that is, Google it ;)
    • #2 Google Search was India vs. England. Whether you call it Soccer or Football, there’s no denying the World Cup draws a massive international interest.

  3. Trends in SEO – EAT. No, we don’t mean more holiday cookies. EAT stands for Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness and is the guiding principle for writing and producing quality content for search engine algorithms. Bottom line, if you want your content to rank high on SERPs, then you need to follow EAT.
  4. AI Goes Mainstream. AI technology has been progressing rapidly these past few years, but really jumped leaps and bounds in 2022. From AI chatbots you now find on most ecommerce websites to the latest buzz, ChatGPT, that can craft human-like prose, find bugs in code, and even create music.
  5. Don’t Be Afraid to BE BOLD. One of the design trends of 2022, was large and bold typography which was part of the 2022 ‘maximalism’ trend. Bold fonts are good at grabbing attention and create a hierarchy within other design elements.

With another great year in the books, we are looking forward to what 2023 brings. In the meantime, we hope you, your family and all of your loved ones enjoy a happy and safe holiday season! See you next year!

Warm Regards and Happy New Year,

YPM Team
